El Domingo pasado fui a deslizarme por el Volcán cerro Negro (AshBoarding)
Estuvo GENIAL!!!!
Si estas en Nicaragua o vienes a visitar, esta es una actividad super divertida y activa. Les escribo un resumen de lo que fue para que esten preparados!
Se sale del centro de la ciudad de Leon, pacifico norte de Nicaragua, alrededor de 1.5 horas de Managua. Nuestro tour salia de Big Foot Hostal a las 9.30AM.
Es aconsejable que tengan un buen desayuno ya que además de tomarse toda la mañana necesitas estar lleno de energía! También lleva agua, bloqueador, zapatos tenis cerrados y preferiblemente jeans o pantalones de deporte. También algún tipo de pañuelo para taparte la cabeza y cara.
Después de una hora llegas finalmente al parque nacional donde pagas $5 y firmas para entrar. Nuestro grupo era como de 65 personas!!! por lo que todo tomaba mas tiempo pero para nosotras era una oportunidad para tomar fotos, nos encanta tomar fotos!!!
Ya entras en un paisaje extremo, el volcán de fondo y pilas y pilas de arena volcánica negra roja en contraste con el verde de los alrededores (Julio es época de 'lluvia')
El sol a toda potencia mientras recibes tu equipo, un traje cuerpo entero, gafas y tu deslizador o trineo. El tour te ofrece que los chicos de la zona te lleven el trineo que es un poco pesado hasta la cima por $5, esto va directo a ellos y es seguramente una de sus mayores fuentes de ingreso. Nosotros escogimos que lo llevaran.
El guia super simpático te explica todo y empiezas a subir 45 min con 2 paradas. hay una parte bastante inclinada y requiere resistencia, buen ejercicio!!!
En cada parada nos juntábamos para tomar fotos, la verdad que el paisaje, el viento, el momento te dan ganas de tener mil recuerdos de la diversión y las fotos hacen justicia.
Ya al fin llegamos a la cima!!! que emoción!!!! un poco de miedo entro en mi, no soy la mas deportista y la verdad no me quería caer. La emoción me llevo a tirarme de segunda, no podía aguantar mas y decidí que tenia que ir. Una vez sentada esperando mi turno me relaje total, estar sentada y con las manos agarradas te sentís super segura y fuuuuuuiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Me sentí con buen control, seguí las sugerencias del guia para ir mas rápido, para cambiar dirección y todo muy fácil como lo decían, suuuuuper divertido. Llegue al final y por supuesto lo único que quería era volverlo a hacer!!!!!! mi velocidad fue 55km por hora, nose si hubiera podido mas rápido sin darme mil vueltas, pero definitivamente lo disfrute!!!!
De regreso, con una cerveza bien fría e increíble nos quedaba una hora mas hacia León, llegamos con muuuuuuucha hambre directo a comer.
Si estas de vacaciones aconsejo quedarte una noche en León, así te das una ducha en tu habitación ya que terminas con arena hasta el ombligo. Además podes visitar la ciudad colonial muy linda, la plaza principal con su catedral y la galería Ortiz Gurdian con una seleccion de Arte Nicaraguense que vas a amar.

Last Sunday I went to slide down the Cerro Negro Volcano -AshBoarding-
It was GREAT!!
If you are in Nicaragua or you come to visit, this is a super fun and full of energy activity. Here a summary of the day so you are prepared!
You leave the center of the city Leon, North-Pacific of Nicaragua, about 1.5 hours from Managua. Our tour left from Big Foot Hostel at 9.30am.
It is advisable to have a good breakfast because besides taking all morning you need to be full of energy! Also bring water, sunscreen, closed shoes, preferably tennis, jeans or sweatpants. Also some sort of cotton scarf to cover your head and face.
After one hour in a truck we arrive to the national park where you pay $5 additional to enter. Our group was about 65 people! (sunday) so everything took more time, but for us it was an opportunity to take pictures, we love to take photos!
You walk into an extreme landscape, the volcano in the background and piles and piles of red black volcanic sand and rocks in contrast with the green of the surrounding (July it is time of 'rain')
The sun at full power while you get your equipment; full body suit, glasses and a wooden board. The tour offers the service to bring your boards up for $5 each, we choose to pay it as the guys are locals and this is probably their main income, plus we wanted to be lighter. :D
The guide explains everything and you start to climb 45 min with 2 stops. there is a fairly steep part that requires endurance, so get ready for a nice workout!
At each stop we would get together to take pictures, the landscape, the wind, the moment, you feel like having a thousand memories of the fun and the photos do it justice.
Now at last we reached the top! so much emotion!!! A little fear entered me, I'm not the most sporty and I really did not want to fall. The excitement led me to go second, I could not wait anymore and decided I had to go. Once I sat waiting my turn all relax, sitting made me feel safe. Waited for the sign and goooooooooooo!!!!
I felt under control, follow the suggestions of the guide to go faster, change direction and all steps as they said, suuuuuper fun. Got to the end and of course the only thing I wanted to do is do it again!! my speed was 55km per hour, I dont know if could go faster without falling hard, but I definitely enjoy it!!
An incredible tour ended with a cold beer from the guide, One more hour to Leon and we were set to go eat as we were soooo hungry!
If you are on vacation I would recommend to stay that night in Leon, so you can take a shower in your room as you will end with sand and rocks even in your belly-button. You can also visit the very nice colonial city of Leon, the main square with its cathedral and the Ortiz Gurdian Gallery with a selection of Nicaraguan Art you will love.
